Reflections for 5th Month, 2025

Amy Andreassen’s decision to try a 100-day dress challenge led to spiritual growth and internal transformation.

Last month, Friends Journal published a wonderful article titled “Divine Dress Code” written by Amy Andreassen.

In it, Amy describes how her decision to try a 100-day dress challenge, where she committed to wearing the same dress for 100 consecutive days, ended up meaning so much more.

In the article she wrote:

“Taking on the 100-day dress challenge wasn’t about rejecting my love for fun and functional clothing; it was a search to understand how intentional living might enrich my life. The decision to wear the same dress for over three months wasn’t just about minimizing my wardrobe; it was about creating space to focus on what truly matters.”

The dress challenge sparked her to incorporate the simplicity testimony in many other aspects of her life.

As she wrote, “Now I can see that this choice created the space I needed for internal transformation.”

Amy found this out for herself with the small action of wearing the same simple wool dress.

“In doing so,” she said, “I have freed myself to focus on what truly matters: spiritual growth, relationships with others, and care for the world around us.”
