The meeting for business for Peachtree Friends Meeting was convened on February 8, 2026 at 10:15am.
An opening silence was observed.
Approval of December and January Minutes
The minutes for the business meetings of December and January were distributed and were approved at the meeting. Carlin will send an email to Glenn to post minutes on the website
Treasury Update:
Edward confirmed that there is $1000 in the interest-bearing account and $980 in the checking. He also confirmed that this is after the donation made to the neighborhood co-op affiliated with the church made in December 2025.
Religious Education Update:
Sarah is scheduled for the first March meeting, rescheduled due to ice and snow events.
Feb 22 is open, please let Jan if you’d like that date or any upcoming dates
Curt confirmed that the church will allow a bookshelf. It cannot be stored in the storage closet, will need to be able to be moved and there are locations we are cleared to use.
Liz will take the lead on purchasing a sturdy bookshelf with an initial budget of $200. If it needs to have wheels added, Bartee has agreed to add wheels if needed so the shelf is movable.
Movie Night
February 21 is the next movie night, Edward will provide movie suggestions.
March 7 is suggested for the next movie night, Edward will verify with church that the date is open.
First Five Freedoms
There is an ongoing discussion of whether or not to sign on to the First Five Freedoms group’s Statement of Values. There is unity that overall, nothing is seen to disagree with in the statement but there was discussion that it may be missing explicit inclusivity.
There was also discussion of whether there will be action associated with the group and if so, we need to be invested and responsible ongoing.
There is currently not unity on signing, we will revisit as more information is provided.

The next business meeting is scheduled for March 8th.
