May 2026 Meeting for Business Minutes

The meeting for business for Peachtree Friends Meeting was convened on May 10, 2026 at 10:17 am.

An opening silence was observed.

Approval of Previous Minutes

The minutes for the April business meeting were distributed and were approved at the meeting. Carlin will send an email to Glenn to post minutes on the website

Treasury Update:

Edward Guerra confirmed that there is $1016 in the interest-bearing account and $1078 in the checking. We are breaking even on month-to-month costs and there are no cash flow issues.

Bookcase Update:

The bookcase has been paid for, delivered and Edward Guerra will assemble it. He and Bartee Lamar will coordinate assembly and adding wheels. The wheels are being added to comply with church request.

Religious Education Update:

Andrew Lewis, Erin’s friend of First Five Freedoms will speak to us next week, May 17th.

On May 31, Evelyn, Beth’s friend will speak to us about her conversion to Islam.

Dates are open for third First Days for the months ahead, contact Jan Westbury.

Movie Night and Social Activities:

There were eight in attendance for the May 9th social gathering. The group attended a play, “Where There’s a Will”, featuring one of our own, Scott King. Agreement that the play was excellent and fun.

There was discussion on potentially suspending movie nights during the summer since nights are light longer and the room is too light for optimal viewing. This will be discussed further.

June 13 was proposed for the next social gathering. The exact event is tbd. Suggestions to be discussed.

New Business:

Recognition of ministry to approve / officiate marriage – request from Curt Thompson. Scott King will clerk meeting for Curt Thompson. The consensus is the Meeting will recognize Curt to officiate an October marriage.

There was consensus to let folding chairs remain set up after our meetings. If the church prefers they are put up, we will honor their preference.

Next Business Meeting:

The next business meeting is scheduled for June 14th.
