Call to Order
The meeting for business for Peachtree Friends Meetinbg was called to order at 10:00 am by Curt Thompson. Fourteen people attended.
An opening silence was observed.
Approval of Minutes
The minutes from the September and October meetings were approved.
Officers
Changes to the meeting’s official roles have been completed with Curt as the Clerk and Recording Clerk and Edward as the Treasurer.
Attendees were asked to consider becoming the clerk, assistant clerk, and recording clerk for next year.
Treasury Review
Edward reported that the meeting is doing well financially, with approximately a six month reserve of funds.
The meeting agreed to make a $1,000 donation to the Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries food coop, which Christ Church Episcopal supports.
A donation to The Friends World Committee for Consultation (FWCC), which had been discussed previously, has been tabled for now.
Religious Education Review
Beth will be conducting the next religious education session next week. Sessions for December are still TBD and volunteers are welcome.
Movie Night
The next movie night will be 12/13 with a Christmas theme.
AFSC Witnesses / Actions
American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) is organizing monthly actions in Atlanta and has asked PFM to join in planning and participating.
The meeting agreed to respond that we are willing to be listed as a supporting meeting, that we would help publicize these actions.
Ed agreed to get some clarification from AFSC regarding any additional specific asks from AFSC.
The first witness will be “Stronger Together for Immigrants” and will be held on 12/6.
List of Acronyms
Pete asked if someone could send out a list of Quaker-related acronyms. Scott and Curt agreed to put one together.
Sign In and Information for Guests
The meeting will try to set up a welcome table at the front door for guests who attend meetings for worship.
Scott will look for the sign in book that the meeting used to have and Curt will look for introductory Quaker pamphlets that can be used for guests.
